This piece is one of three from the Jump the Gun series captured during my time on the road in an RV. I had stopped at a winery in Oregon, a place littered with old buildings and forgotten scraps of life. Among the debris, I came across these two fallen horses, lying together as if placed by some unseen hand. Both were made to serve us-one for play, the other for work, yet here they rested side by side, their purposes erased, their forms equal in stillness. For me, it was a reminder of how objects outlive their use, carrying echoes of the people who once depended on them.
