This piece is one of three from the Jump the Gun series captured during my time on the road in an RV. At the time, I thought I was only capturing a stretch of road in Arizona, one of those views so breathtaking you can’t help but stop and take it in. Looking back, I realize it was more than that. This picture became a foreshadowing of what was to come: one of the hardest turns in my life. Sometimes we photograph something simply because it’s beautiful, only to discover later that it carries a deeper truth. Life is full of unexpected curves, and often they lead us toward the most stunning vistas, reminders that beyond the bend, something extraordinary might be waiting.
